Nana’s Shrimp Creole
Rob, Kathy, Nana, Guy, Candy & Joan (November 1981)
1 ½ lbs shrimp 1 t chili powder
¼ c parsley 2 bay leaves
¼ c chopped onion 3 T flour
¼ c chopped celery 1 t sugar
¼ c chopped green pepper Dash pepper
1 T Worchester sauce 2 c chopped tomatoes
1 finely chopped garlic clove
dash Tabasco sauce
Sauté onion, green pepper, garlic and celery in small amount of water until tender. Blend in flour and
seasonings. Add tomatoes and cook until thick (stir often). Add shrimp (we’ve added turkey sausage too) and simmer uncovered for 10-15 minutes. Serve over cooked rice with corn bread (yum!).
