French Onion Soup Augratin

2 or 3 nice sized onions
2 to 3 tablespoons flour
1 ½ cup water
1 cup milk
Grated swiss cheese
Croutons
Brown onions in butter (over medium heat.) Add flour, stir, cook about 5 minutes. Add liquid, let simmer about 30 minutes. Layer croutons and cheese in an oven proof dish, pour soup over it. Sprinkle with croutons and cheese. Put in over until slightly brown. Serve hot.
